Head of Research & Insights | South Pacific Division Head
Chris has worldwide and world class experience in tourism and new technology working in the U.S., New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Chris’ background includes time at Newmans Tours (head of FIT Travel), Jasons Travel Media (where he set up its online business), CEO of Destination Coromandel and at Miles – working with accommodation and destination clients in New Zealand, Asia and North America. Chris is also the head of destination research and insights and spends much of his time speaking at various international travel and hospitality conferences.
VP Digital Marketing | South Pacific General Manager
Combining his degree in fine arts with broad technology, programming, UX and conversion experience C.A. brings together art and science to create innovative, results-focused marketing solutions for clients. Challenge and precision drive his hobbies as well, C.A. is a motorcycle racer and a marksman.
Director of Destination Strategy
Kristin is a fellow of Marketing, with a Bachelor of Business Studies who has worked for some of New Zealand’s best brands in senior management and strategic marketing roles. Until July 2021, Kristin was Chief Executive of a regional Destination Management & Marketing Organisation (DMMO) and has first-hand experience in leading, transforming and marketing a destination.
Kristin leads our Destination Management Services including consulting to other destinations and capability building for other tourism professionals. She is passionate about tourism with purpose and helping destinations flourish to the benefit of residents and visitors, whilst being responsible stewards for future generations.
Skye van den Oever
Digital Projects Lead | Senior Account Manager
Originally from Australia, Skye moved to New Zealand in 2016 and joined Miles shortly after. Following extensive travel whilst enlisted in the Australian Air Force, Skye now spends her time developing and managing various digital projects designed to inspire travel and promote sustainable tourism from both the traveler and operator’s viewpoints. Skye specialises in SEO, analytics, social media, email marketing and is also one of our Google DMO Programme specialists here in New Zealand.
Whilst not working you’ll likely find Skye at the gym training Muay Thai and MMA or relaxing and enjoying a single malt whisky.
Senior Marketing Specialist
Maria has over 15 years of marketing experience and is a CIM UK member. She is an experienced strategist specialising in content marketing, social media and advertising. Maria has designed and facilitated digital capability workshops as part of our destination optimisation programmes in Puerto Rico, Vanuatu, Samoa and New Zealand. She is passionate about collaboratively developing strategies that benefit destinations, operators, communities and the environment.
Account Manager & Strategist
Abby’s role of Account Manager and Strategist at Miles Partnership combines expertise in destination management and sustainability with her love of building long-lasting relationships. With eight years of international client-side experience spanning across non-profit, association and destination management organisations, Abby is the go-to for new and existing Miles partners to understand how our portfolio of services can help secure the legacy of tourism in the South Pacific.
Content & Project Manager
Given her name, Astral was born to be involved in the travel industry. In her role as Content & Project Manager for the South Pacific division of Miles, Astral manages the implementation of digital marketing initiatives for national and regional tourism organisations, accommodation providers and other travel-sector clients. Working in SEO, analytics, social media, email marketing, content review, strategy and planning – Astral’s role is to guide clients through the digital marketing landscape.
Alexia lives to travel and eat and has managed to specialise in culinary and travel journalism so she can do it for a living. She’s as happy discovering limestone caves in southern Waikato as she is being mesmerised by the Hong Kong skyline or playing with village kids in the Pacific Islands. She believes happiness comes from seeing new things and meeting new people, as they always give you new ways to view the world.
