Joint collaboration boosts national tourism audience

“Your Favourite Samoa Holiday” competition

Project Overview

This lead generation project consisted of a targeted campaign running over 4 months designed to build a meaningful and engaged database of New Zealanders and Australians interested in travel to Samoa.


The solution devised was a easy to enter competition, cross promoted by two of Samoa’s largest tourism enterprises, the Samoa Tourism Authority and Samoa’s national airline, Samoa Airways.

To allow the majority of the full budget to be directed towards the promotion of the competition, a simple and cost-effective existing competition platform was selected to handle the competition entries.

The competition offered users 4 unique Samoan experiences; ‘Adventure’, ‘Romance’, ‘Family’ and ‘Relaxation’. These experiences were not offered as prizes, but entrants were directed to landing pages on the Samoa Tourism Authority website that contained bookable packages.

All entrants went into the draw to win return flights, transfers and five nights accommodation.



The competition had a primary goal of achieving 20,000 new email addresses of people within Australia and New Zealand however acheived over 25,000 entries.
Results: 26.7% above target.
